‘Remember Rockford Families Reunion’
Returns This September
Rockford, N.C. – The 2nd Annual Remember Rockford Families Reunion is planned for Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Rockford Park. The day’s activities will include traditional music, re-enactors, a BBQ lunch and sharing of family and local history. Rockford heritage will be the theme throughout this year’s one day event. Registration fee for the day is $10.00 which includes lunch.
Last year’s reunion was attended by over 100 Rockford descendants. The Surry County Genealogical Association will be on hand to assist attendees with Rockford and Surry County genealogy.
This year there will be a table at the reunion where descendants can exchange and submit treasured family recipes for compiling into a Rockford Family Recipes book which the Rockford Preservation Society will publish next year.
Family captains are needed to serve as contacts for family lines. Anyone who would like to volunteer for their family should contact Hannah Holyfield at: hannah@rockfordbedandbreakfast.com.
