Description

WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING WITH THE ECONOMY?

Interest rates. Inflation. Workforce challenges. Consumer confidence. Business investment.

The headlines can feel overwhelming—and sometimes contradictory. This timely program will move beyond the headlines to help local business and community leaders better understand the economic forces shaping our nation, our region and the decisions they make every day.

Matt Martin, regional executive with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will provide a national and regional economic update, share what businesses are reporting across the Carolinas and discuss the trends leaders should be watching in the months ahead.

Martin is based in Charlotte and leads the Richmond Fed’s outreach efforts throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. His work includes engaging with business, banking and community leaders to develop a real-time understanding of economic conditions across the region. He joined the Richmond Fed in 2006 and previously worked for Moody’s Analytics and the Congressional Budget Office.
