This honor is presented each year by the Chamber\n\nat their Annual Meeting in January. The deadline for nominations is 5pm\n\nWednesday January 13\, 2016.\n\n \n\nNominees should have clearly demonstrated leadership and hard work\,\n\nthat have made Mount Airy and Surry County a better place to live and work.\n\nNomination forms and an outline of the criteria are available by contacting the\n\nChamber office at 336-786-6116 or via email at randy@mtairyncchamber.org.\n\n \n\nThe Citizen of the Year has been presented each year\, for the past 53 years\,\n\nby the Chamber\, starting in 1962. The 2014 Citizens of the Year honoree was\n\nBerta Glenn Springthorpe.
